Position: Wells Quality Control Inspector (PDO Site)

 Location: Nizwa

Duration : 6 years.
Joining time: End of Nov. 2018
Salary: for Wells Quality Assurance Auditor = 3400 USD per month/ Negotiable subject to Experience & qualifications
     Wells Quality Control Inspector = 3100 USD per month / Negotiable subject to Experience & qualifications

Working Hrs: 10Hrs / day 7 days , 3 months on , one month off unpaid
Accommodation, Transportation, Food provided whilst at work  or  ( Sufficient allowance will be provided ) & retune air tickets to the nearest airport are provided during R &R

Reports to: Functionally to QA/QC Coordinator and hierarchically to SWE Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Duties and Responsibilities
 Maintain a robust effective Quality Witness process of all inspection, maintenance and deployment activities, to and ensure no defective service/product reaches rig site.
 Reduce rig NPT (Non Productive Time) through QC management of drilling and completions equipment and OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) as well as drilling tools, wireline, logging, perforating, and drill pipe inspection
 Comply with Company HSE standards and lifesaving rules. Set a clear HSE leadership example and promote a high degree of health, safety and environmental awareness among project stakeholders
 Hands on approach with frequent visits to vendor locations.
 Focus on QC improvements for the most problematic tool/equipment types (MWD/LWD, RSS, Reamers, Motors/Turbines, Liner Hanger Running/Setting Tools and Rig equipment).
 Perform a QC Inspection on a supplier at site of all relevant equipment prior to out loading to Rig site – along with verification of all documentation.  Constructively report back all findings with smart actions.
 Review detailed quality and service plans for each order and confirms key quality control items and hold points including NDT and assembly & testing procedures.
 Monitor effectiveness of Service Contractor’s quality control plans / ITPs, procedures and work instruction.  Monitor Service Contractor’s records of calibration, inspection & test equipment.
 Assist and or participate in quality & HSE audits and other inspection as applicable.
 Report on all inspection issues and administer the Non – Conformance Reports until resolution, completion and acceptance.
 Perform process based, quality flash audits.
 Ensure that the status of the works is known, documentation is prepared and information provided to the Company Site Representative on completed work and all quality aspect of the works.
 Carry out regular verification inspections and report on these.  Witness and/or monitor the hydrostatic testing; equipment assembly & testing activities. Raise Non-Conformance and rejection/acceptance/release of materials delivered to the works.
 Support Root cause failure analysis team by gathering evidence, witnessing tool disassembly, testing, etc, and reporting findings.
 Maintain database and feedback on Service Contractor’s performance.
 Provide field based mentoring and coaching & training to junior QA/QC engineers / Well Engineers, etc and assist in performance evaluation of their development.


Job Requirements
 HNC or HND or graduate equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or welding engineering or metallurgy or appropriate craft training and trade certificate.
 Minimum (7) years oil field experience, with a minimum five years experience in QA/QC for wells environment (i.e. Drilling & Completions).
 Shall be a certified internal auditor with IRCA, RABQSA or equivalent. (where equivalent is proposed, evidence of equivalence shall be provided.
 Familiarity with exploration and production drilling and completion tools, OCTG, premium connections, rig equipment and field/rig inspection processes (electromagnetic, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, visual, and dimensional), industry inspection standards and specifications including common destructive testing methods.
 Knowledge of the plant equipment or material to be inspected. Familiar with mechanical testing (e.g. tensile, hardness, impact, CTOD) and metallurgical testing (e.g. grain size, microstructure, macrostructure and chemical analysis) in accordance with ASTM, ISO and/or API standards.
 Understanding of common oilfield OCTG size, weight and grade.
 Working knowledge of DS-1 drill-stem inspection requirements and non-destructive inspection standards and specifications such as ASNT, ASME, NACE
 Understanding of industry leading Contractors BHA maintenance management systems (such as Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Weatherford, etc).
 Understanding of premium connection make-up graphs as well as proper API connection make-up.
 Exhibit strong verbal and written communications skills in English (job requires frequent communication with Well Engineers, purchasing/procurement, and Contractor/Vendor management).
 Able to review and interpret technical requirements in Contracts/Purchase Orders.
 Must be organized and able to multi-task.
 Able to coach and educate people on process improvement.
 Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills.
 Shall be able to use computer and programs (email, WORD and Excel as a minimum) for general business applications.
 Willing to travel as required.
